Fisker Trouble Timeline

11/2 1109: call from Spencer. He said he'll call at around 1:30pm to confirm 2:00pm arrival. 1407: call from spencer. He said he'd be to my home with the Ocean in 25 minutes. Spencer said he was 16 miles away. 1500: spencer and rocky arrive. the walk through was unremarkable. They did not have answers to about half of my questions. I asked why it only had 499 boosts left. They looked at me, stammered a bit and provided no answer. I know that the morning of 11/12, the car had 155 miles. That was the first time I found the odometer. According to Google Timeline data, I had driven 111.0 miles since the car's delivery. The car then must have arrived with 44 miles on it. 11/7 0800: After dropping the kids off at school at 8am, I headed towards home depot. The car was flashing every few seconds with a warning that crash detection was unavailable, please drive carefully. After several minutes of this, I turned off the crash detection to stop the warning. I thought that perhaps the

Real World Fisker Range: 168 Mile Round Trip to Tahoe

I took my first longish trip yesterday. From around the South Land Park (Sacramento) to Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort. Round trip was 168 miles. Temperature was about 50 on the way up, in the 70's on the way back. I started with an 83% charge. Arrived at %33, and was at 13% when home. I.e., I used 50% of total capacity (360) for 84 miles, then another 20% on the downhill return for a total of %70 of total capacity. 84 miles represents 23% of range at capacity so we should be looking at 46%. That's half the expected drain in real world use. That said, I did not drive slowly, around 70-80mph the whole way. I was in fun mode on the way up for a portion, then switched to earth mode as soon as my range anxiety took hold, maybe 50 miles into the trip, then back to fun on the way back when my range anxiety abated. I'm really hoping that the cold of winter doesn't harm the range much further as I'll make this drive nearly every cold weather weekend.

Bill's Fisker Betatester List

 1. Key fob is atrocious.  It is my understanding that Fisker is working on a replacment. A Radgiver told me "by the end of the year." Also, the manual says that the car will unlock as I approach the vehicle. That doesn't happen. Presumably, this is an OTA update for later.  2. Courtesy light buttons are not very responsive, if at all. 3. Turn signal volume is great when at driving speeds. It is far too loud at low speeds and "idle." 4. Defaults to first mode, high regenerative braking. It would be nice if it just defaulted to your last setting. I find myself driving in fun mode with medium regenerative braking 95% of the time. 5. AC defaults to on. Even if you had it off on your last trip. Be nice if this would not reset each time you cycled the power. 6. There's no power button. The only way to turn the vehicle off once you stopped is to lock the door. I don't want to leave my car on. I want to turn it off, then maybe unload a few things. I don't w
